Music creators around the world will have the opportunity to share their creations both on TikTok and other popular platforms.

The social network TikTok, which has already made a lot of music popular, has now decided to get serious about mastering the music industry and the sphere of music distribution. The company announced that it is launching its own service called SoundOn. It will specialize in music distribution, as well as providing content creators with a wide range of marketing tools. The platform has been in beta testing since the fall of 2021.

With SoundOn, users will be able to upload their music directly to TikTok in the first place. Streaming service Resso (owned by ByteDance, which owns TikTok as well) will also be available as a platform for downloads. The company emphasizes that all platforms belonging to it will not take any monetary deductions from the creators of music, musicians will receive all royalties in full.

But that's not all, users will be able to upload their works to a number of other services, including such popular ones as Spotify and Apple Music, as well as to the Pandora, Joox and Deezer platforms. For non-ByteDance global platforms, no fees are promised here either. However, there is a slight clarification, this situation will remain only in the first year of SoundOn’s operations, in the second year the musicians will be able to keep not 100, but 90% of the royalties.

In addition to the actual distribution of music, the service provides musicians with a number of useful marketing options. This includes audience analysis tools, providing advices and insights from the platform, advertising support, and so on.
