On February 6, Google presented its new development – the intelligent chatbot Bard. Will it be able to compete with ChatGPT?

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, published information about the launch of the Bard chatbot on his blog. He noted that the novelty will first be available to a limited circle of testers. Other users will not have to wait long either – they will be able to try out its capabilities in the next few weeks. Like today's well-known ChatGPT (a product of the OpenAI research lab), the Bard chatbot was built based on LLM and trained on large datasets to be able to give relevant and most convincing answers to questions asked to it.

Sundar Pichai emphasized that in the process of creating Bard, the developers sought to strengthen the large language model with the colossal knowledge of the world, given its power, intelligence, and creativity. In addition, they gave the chatbot the ability to take information from the Internet to provide the most relevant and meaningful answers. This compares favorably with its competitor – ChatGPT.

Google has been spurred on to accelerate the launch of its smart chatbot by the biggest risk its search engine is currently facing. It turned out that the rapidly gaining popularity of ChatGPT is very actively used not only for writing essays and articles, but also for finding answers to questions that have always been "googled" before.
