Following the release of their Copilot app for Android devices, Microsoft has expanded its reach by launching a similar AI chatbot app for iOS and iPadOS users. This app is now available for download from the Apple App Store.

The newly launched app offers users the functionality of Microsoft Copilot, formerly known as Bing Chat, mirroring the features of OpenAI's ChatGPT mobile app. It allows users to ask questions, write emails, and summarize text. An added feature includes the ability to create visuals through integration with the DALL-E 3 text-to-image generator.

One of the key benefits of Copilot, compared to the free version of ChatGPT which is based on GPT-3.5, is its provision of GPT-4, OpenAI's latest and most sophisticated language model, without the need for a paid subscription.

In rebranding Bing Chat to Copilot, Microsoft is clearly positioning itself to offer a unique, standalone experience in line with ChatGPT's capabilities. Alongside the release of the app for both Android and Apple devices, Microsoft has also established a dedicated web version of Copilot, separate from its Bing integration.
