Twitter Is Testing A New Monetization Option
An additional monetization option in the test version is called Tweet Awards, with its help the reader can make a virtual gift to the author they like.
The Twitter platform has already rolled out a range of monetization options for users, including multiple subscription options and the ability to receive tips. Now, some users have discovered that the developers of the social network are already working on a new feature called Awards.
A new reward tool icon was found in the toolbar at the bottom of the tweet. It appeared for individual users and this indicates ongoing testing. The icon represents a picture of a gift, and it is assumed that by clicking on it, the user will be able to give the author of the tweet a virtual gift. In this way, it will be possible to highlight the tweet you like and support it, and not just the page as a whole.
How exactly users will be able to pay for virtual gifts themselves has not yet been specified. Perhaps a special currency within Twitter will be used for this, or the usual means of payment. The ability to give the author of the content virtual gifts is already actively used by other social networks, they are on Facebook, TikTok and YouTube.
